PROGRAM RESULTS - Seconday Navigation

moving ahead

Richardson Independent School District, Richardson, Texas

After a very successful 1st year pilot in 7th and 8th grade at one of five district junior highs, Richardson expanded the TI MathForward™ program to additional junior highs in the 2nd year, also adding an Algebra 1 pilot.

Based on great success in year two, Richardson has now expanded the program to all junior highs and additional algebra classes at other freshman campuses.  Future plans are for full district-wide implementation.

School District of Palm Beach County, West Palm Beach, Florida

After the 1st year pilot, teachers and administrators cited the TI MathForward program’s unique advantage of providing educators feedback to drive instruction and how the technology helps students become critical thinkers.  With these benefits and score increases on diagnostic tests, teachers not involved in the 1st year implementation are anxious to participate in the program.

Barbara Harvill

“I hope that our district will have all the classes using the program.  The others here who don’t have the program would love to have it.” - Barbara Harvill, Math Coach, School District of Palm Beach County – Palm Springs Middle School

Euclid City School District, Euclid, Ohio

Euclid first implemented the TI MathForward pilot program in 7th and 8th grades at two middle schools for the 2006-2007 school year.  These schools were performing below state targets.  While prior performance of students targeted for the MathForward pilot program was significantly below comparison students, gains reported by the MathForward classes were dramatic.  Euclid’s future plans include expanding the program to Algebra 1 classrooms.

"I really enjoy integrating technology into the problem solving portion of my power block." - Marty Mackar, Teacher, Euclid City School District
